Hi I am looking do you adopt an order adult dachshund dog that is in need of a home that I can adopt that can be around other dogs I currently have a 3 month old dachshund male. I would really like other one for me and him as well. I’m located in Ohio i’ve tried the douche shelters around me and they won’t let me adopt due to because I don’t have a fenced in yard but I do you have a yard. I rent and the landlord won’t let me put up a fence up.
Hi there, I understand, yes many dog shelters do require a fenced in yard for adoptions. I also have run into this issue myself. The Ohio dachshund rescues that are listed in the post are all I’m aware of. The other option would be to look at the rescues in the nearby states. Also, the petfinder app or website can help narrow your search to dachshund and it looks at all shelters around you, not only the dachshund specific rescues. Good luck with your search.
